Happy Boobs

Well...if you weren't already in the know - you will be now. :)

About a month and a half ago I found a lump in my breast. It wasn't the kind that you wonder if it's a lump or the kind that you ignore...it was about the size of a big gumball. I took my lump to the doctor, who promptly ordered a mamogram. The mamogram was an interesting experience...if you've never had one imagine a bologna sandwich...now imagine your boob is the bologna and two flat plastic (see through) plates are the bread...now image your smaller than an AAA. :) VERRRYYY awkward. Anyway...the mamogram came back with a dense mass...(duh)...but by this time my lump was bleeding...(yes...from there)...my doctor now sends me for an emergency ultrasound. The exact same kind that you have when your pregnant. It came back saying that it was a liquid filled mass. So now I'm sent for a biopsy...to a surgeon.

Keep in mind I'm condensing the story for you...there are day's...sometimes up to a week, inbetween these events.

The surgeon does a breast exam and decides against the biopsy opting to go straight to removing the lump. EEEKK!!! I'm not very hip to having things removed from my body. I tend to panic in these situations (c-sections aka..child removal) was a horribly traumatic experience for me. Also mind you that all this while I have to be concerned still that I have breast cancer....which is none too settling all by itself.

So anyway...the lumpectomy. By the time that rolls around I've thought about it so much that I'm a nervous wreck when we show up. When they call my name me and my husband get up to go in but NO...he can't come in with me. No one is allowed during surgery. Did I mention that I am to be AWAKE for this procedure? Uh...yeah. This was not a pretty procedure....

BUT ... a week later...my stitches are out and my pathology is back confirming that there is no cancer ... just a "rubbery 5x5x3 mass". (the report REALLY said that!)

So Hooray for me!! Now we can get back to business as usual. To all of those that waited patiently for me to back in my right mind all I can say is THANK YOU!!! All of my customers are the best! ;)

A lot has been going on since my last post...so on to fun stuff like that.

Just before Xmas I received a much needed cheer package from my DEAR friend Crystal. She sent this to me for no reason whatsoever other than her utter sweetness. :) Thank you to you, friend!! ;)

Somewhere along the line my sewing machine died...(another nervous breakdown...) But not to fear...it was replaced the same day. The old machine was 19 years old and on it's last leg. It's been repaired a bazillion times, and the new machine was in no way frivolous...but let me tell you...it's been an absolute joy to sew on....Meet the new Kenmore! :)

Watch in the next couple days for a belated Xmas post. We had a blast Christmas day and I have pictures to share with everyone, especially those of you who made some of the presents the kids recieved. :)

Hope your week is as good as mine is going! :)

Watch the shop this weekend too....
